Programme Officer - Sahel Maghreb

Fixed Term - 12 months
Total salary package of £26,808 - £29,544 GBP per annum

MAG is seeking a Programme Officer for a new programme based in the Sahel Maghreb region. Our work in the region will involve undertaking assessments in designated countries, such as Chad and Niger, to better understand the operational context and the need for MAG to intervene.

Our work will be focused on improving community safety and security, physical security and stockpile management and small arms and light weapons, with the aim of decreasing the risks posed to local populations and increasing regional stability.

The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the Country Director with proposal development, grant management, donor compliance and report writing. You will therefore need previous experience in this area of work, ideally with experience working with a wide range of institutional donors.

You will also support the Country Director in creating and maintaining relationships with donors, partners and other key stakeholders. You will also have to opportunity to support the Country Director with desktop research, activities and events within the region.  The successful candidate will therefore also need experience in these areas, which should have been gained in a humanitarian agency, ideally in a conflict/post-conflict environment. Regional experience is desirable.

The post-holder will be based in Dakar, Senegal but will be expected to travel to other areas within the region as and when required. The successful candidate should have fluent French language skills, with a good level of written and spoken English.

Please note recruitment to this position is subject to the receipt of funding and a signed donor contract


The total salary package for this post is £26,808 - £29,544 GBP per annum which includes basic salary and a cost of living allowance.*Please see the general information below for further information related to our benefits package.
